Australia-wide Incentives

Cheaper Home Batteries Program

The Federal Government’s Cheaper Home Batteries Program launched on 1 July, offering a rebate discount on battery installations. 

This rebate reduces twice a year until 2030, meaning you'll get a smaller discount the longer you wait to install your battery. 

Who's eligible?

This rebate discount is available for a new home battery if purchased for a home with new or existing solar panels. The level of discount is based on the solar battery’s usable capacity.

Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC) Discount

Eligible subscriptions receive monthly discounts based on your location and system size.

Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES)

This federal scheme provides Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs) that reduce the upfront cost of installing solar.

Who’s eligible?

Australian residents and businesses installing solar systems up to 100kW.

How it works:

We calculate your STCs based on your location and system size, then apply the full value as a discount to your quote.

Victoria

Solar Rebate & Loan

A rebate of up to $1,400 for solar panel installation is available in limited numbers. Interest-free loans up to $1,400 are also available for outright Home Energy System. Find out more on the Solar Victoria website.

Who is eligible?

To be eligible for a solar panel (PV) rebate in Victoria, you must:

  1. Be an owner-occupier of the property

  2. Household taxable income is less than $150,000 per year

  3. Property is valued under $3 million

  4. The property can’t have received a solar battery rebate before and also not had solar installed in the last 10 years.

  5. If you've moved and received a rebate before, you can apply again for your new property if it hasn't previously received these rebates.

New South Wales

NSW Govt Home Energy Saver Loan

The NSW Government has launched the Home Energy Saver program, offering zero-interest, no-fee loans of up to $15,000 for eligible NSW homeowners and landlords to fund approved energy upgrades, such as home solar and battery. The government has allocated $480 million for the loan scheme, enough for 32,000 households at the maximum amount.  

Who's eligible:

NSW homeowners and landlords with combined household taxable income up to $210,000, subject to lender credit assessment and other criteria.

Renters are not eligible for loans.

  • Your household's total income not exceeding $210,000 per year.
  • The property is located in NSW
  • You own the property (as an owner-occupier or landlord) - noting Zelora is currently only available for owner-occupier
  • You meet the credit assessment requirements
  • The loan is available across NSW and is subject to Brighte approval
  • You are an Australian Citizen or Permanent resident
  • The property is not social housing or used for short-stay
  • Outright payment only. The loan is not available on the Zelora subscription option.

 

How it works

  1. Use Zelora's online tool to get an instant estimate, submit your details and our team will organise a site inspection to confirm your design and quote.
  2. Once accepted and deposit paid, Zelora will apply for the loan on your behalf you’ll then be sent a form from the loan provider (Brighte) to complete.
  3. Your eligibility and credit-check will be completed by Brighte
  4. If successful you will enter a contract and sign up for monthly repayments for up to 10 years.
  5. Zelora will be notified of your outcome (successful or unsuccessful) and your install will be booked in.
  6. The remainder owing (your total amount less the deposit paid and loan amount) will be processed by Zelora and your loan repayments will begin with Brighte.

The loan is available on a variety of items, not just solar and vattery. Other Home Energy upgrades can be done too - from EV chargers and hot water heat pumps to reverse cycle air conditioning.
