Cheaper Home Batteries Program

The Federal Government’s Cheaper Home Batteries Program launched on 1 July, offering a rebate discount on battery installations. 

This rebate reduces each year until 2030, meaning you'll get a smaller discount for each year you wait to install your battery. 

Who's eligible?

This rebate discount is available for a new home battery if purchased for a home with new or existing solar panels. The level of discount is based on the solar battery’s usable capacity.

Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC) Discount

Eligible subscriptions receive monthly discounts based on your location and system size.

Estimated monthly savings:

Solar & Battery System:

  • $13–$22 (NSW)

Battery Only:

  • $10–$15 (NSW)
Who’s eligible?

Properties valued under $2.5 million at the time of subscription.

How it works:

We check your eligibility, manage the application and apply the discount directly to your quote.

Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES)

This federal scheme provides Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs) that reduce the upfront cost of installing solar.

Who’s eligible?

Australian residents and businesses installing solar systems up to 100kW.

How it works:

We calculate your STCs based on your location and system size, then apply the full value as a discount to your quote.

New South Wales

New South Wales – PDRS Scheme discount to be replaced by Cheaper Home Batteries Program

NSW residents can access a new battery installation discount under the Australian Government’s Cheaper Home Batteries Program

This Program offers a rebate discount on a new home battery if purchased for a home with new or existing solar panels. The level of discount is based on the solar battery's usable capacity.
