What to Expect on Installation Day
Your Zelora Home Energy System is about to come to life.
Here’s a simple guide to walk you through what happens when your system is installed—and what you can do to help things run smoothly
🛠️ Before We Arrive
In most cases, your Installer will bring all the equipment on the day. Occasionally, it may be delivered the day before.
Note: For safety, at some point during your install your home's power will be turned off for around 2 hours while your system is connected to your electrical switchboard.
Please make sure:
- Your driveway or access points are clear
- You’re at home to sign off on the start of the installation
- You have your Wi-Fi details handy so we can connect your system
Things to be aware of:
- Depending on the complexity and size of your system, your installation may take place across more than one day.
- We take your safety and the safety of our installers seriously. We may reschedule your installation if the forecast weather would make the work unsafe (high winds, heavy rain, high heat etc)
🔧 What Happens During Installation?
Our Zelora Installer team will:
- Install temporary safety railings if needed
- Access the roof to install solar panels using metal mounting rails
- Install your hardware
- Mount the inverter and battery in the agreed location (usually shaded, near the switchboard)
- Connect the battery to the inverter
- Run cables from the panels to the inverter and switchboard
- Complete the electrical work (for safety, your power will be turned off during this time)
- Install switchgear (like circuit breakers and isolators)
- Set up the system using the manufacturer’s app
- Test everything to make sure it’s working perfectly
- Issue a Certificate of Electrical Safety (CCEW)
- Document the install
- Take photos for compliance and upload them to the STC platform
✅ After Installation
Your Installer will:
- Set up system monitoring on your phone
- Show you how to check performance and basic functions
⚡ When Will My System Turn On?
NSW: Your system will be connected the same day
📦 What Happens Next?
After installation, we'll take care of the rest:
- Register your system with your energy retailer and AEMO
- Finalise your STC paperwork and send it to you for signing
Once approved, we’ll send your Zelora Handover Pack, which includes:
- System specs and manuals
