The X1 is VPP-Ready

  • Approved for VPP programs offered by major energy retailers
  • Approved for major DNSPs

Virtual Power Plant programs (VPPs) link home batteries so they can work together like a power station, providing energy to the grid during busy times.

If you choose to participate in a VPP program through your energy retailer, they offer additional benefits or payments in return for the stored energy you share. Check with your energy retailer to see what options might be available to you.

What battery chemistry does the Anker SOLIX X1 use?
The X1 uses LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery chemistry. This is a great option for home batteries given the safety, longevity and durability it offers.
Can the Anker SOLIX X1 be installed outdoors?
Yes. The X1 battery module is rated IP66 and the AC-coupled power module is rated IP65, making the system suitable for outdoor installation. If you live on the coast, the X1 must be installed beyond 300 metres from the coastline, per the Anker installation guidelines.
Does the X1 provide backup power during outages?
Yes. The X1 provides near-instant backup power via a 'UPS-style' switchover within approximately 10 milliseconds. Performance may vary by setup and operating conditions.
What is the warranty on the Anker SOLIX X1?
The Anker SOLIX X1 battery comes with a 10-year warranty. The battery module warranty includes throughput limits and warranty terms vary by battery component and usage. Contact Zelora for full warranty documentation.
What is the difference between X1 AC Coupled and Hybrid battery configurations?

There are two main types of X1 battery systems for home install.

The X1 AC Coupled system connects to the AC side of your existing wiring, making it a great option if you already have solar panels and want to add a battery without changing your inverter. These systems come in sizes from 5 to 30 kWh with a 5 kW power output.

The X1 Hybrid systems combine your solar inverter and battery into one integrated unit. They manage both solar generation and storage together, which can make them more efficient.

X1 Hybrid batteries come in a single phase system (5–50 kWh, with 5–6 kW power) and larger three phase systems for homes with higher power needs (5–50 kWh, 5–12 kW power). Whilst Zelora currently offers X1 three phase systems up to 50 kWh, they are able to scale up to 180 kWh. This makes them a good choice for homes with energy needs that will grow over time.

The Zelora team will look at your home, your existing solar system and your energy use to recommend the right option for you.

Can the Anker SOLIX X1 be used for Virtual Power Plant (VPP) programs?

The X1 system is designed to support VPP participation. Being part of a VPP may let you earn credits or payments from an energy retailer, when your battery helps to support the grid.

Every VPP program is different, so eligibility, availability and how much you can earn will vary. Check with your energy retailer to see what options might be available to you.

How long does X1 installation take?

The assembly or stacking of X1 battery units takes approximately 20 minutes. This applies to stacking only and does not include wiring, commissioning, or approvals.

Total installation time will depend on your specific setup, site conditions and installer.
