Planning Your Battery Location

Getting your battery location sorted is an exciting step on your Solar & Battery System journey. Having a few potential spots in mind can make your site assessment faster — and helps avoid the need for extra visits.

Here’s how to get started:

• Walk around your property
• Pick out 2–3 locations that meet the requirements
• Optional: Snap some photos for reference
  
  

Your battery needs:

• A 2m x 2m clear wall space
• No windows or doors within that space
• Protection from direct sun
• Clearance from any gas meters
  
  

Best places:

• In your garage (most popular)
• On an external wall
  
  

Places to avoid:

• Living areas like bedrooms and lounges
• Anywhere cars could hit the battery (unless there’s a barrier)
• Under windows
•  Emergency exit routes

• Plan cable requirements
• Assess safety equipment
• Finalise installation cost

Note: If you want to choose a new battery location, an extra site visit might be needed.
