🔍 What Makes a Good Battery Location?
When looking around your home, keep an eye out for spots that are:
- Clear of clutter, with space around the battery (2m x 2m is ideal)
- Shaded for at least part of the day (batteries prefer cooler spots)
- Easy for you to access and check if needed
- Close to your switchboard, if possible

1. Inside the Garage (Most Popular)
Garages are a great choice—they’re shaded, cool, and often close to your switchboard.
Just make sure there’s at least 600mm clearance from doors or vents, and your Installer may recommend bollards for protection from vehicles.
If there's no smoke alarm in your garage, your Installer might suggest adding one.
2. Outside Wall of a Non-Habitable Room
These are rooms you don’t spend much time in, like:
- Bathrooms
- Laundry
- Pantry
- Hallways
- Walk-in wardrobes
These walls usually have fewer restrictions, making installation simpler.
3. Outside Wall of a Habitable Room
You can still install on walls of bedrooms, kitchens, or living areas—just with a few extra safety steps.
If the wall isn’t made of fire-resistant material (like brick or cement), your Installer will add a fire-rated barrier to keep everything safe and compliant.
